For me design at its core is simply communication. For designs to be successful, communication needs to occur effectively and efficiently. During the design process this might be done by verbally explain simple ideas, sketching others, or rendering more finalized ideas. Eventually the finished design communicates intent to the end user, whether it be by relaying a hierarchy of information through graphics, how a product should be used through form language, how a physical space should be used through its layout, or even how an art piece can communicate emotions. I strive to achieve designs that uphold this effective communication to the end user and through all steps of the process.
I am currently living in Northwest Montana, designing, and making ceramics. I am enjoying the access to unparalleled outdoor opportunities, and connecting with the vibrant art and design community in this area. In my free time I love to snowboard, hike, cycle, rock climb, take photographs, cook, and make music.
